Location: Kerrville and Hunt, Texas
Below: Recommended nonprofits serving in the disaster area along the Guadalupe River in the Texas Hill Country. The organizations listed below are serving in the area and have been vetted to the best of our abilities. We always recommend donors have a direct connection to nonprofits.

The purpose of this Disaster Fund is twofold:
1. Direct donor funds to vetted nonprofits serving in the disaster event location.
2. Fund supplies and resources to bless those impacted by the flood.

Report: Flood Disaster Relief Support and Assessment

Date: Tuesday, July 8, 2025
Location: Kerrville and Hunt, TX (along the Guadalupe River)
Purpose
Mobilize small teams of volunteers from Ft Worth to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ by bringing practical help and real hope to our fellow Texans in their hour of need.
– Strategic partnerships that support LOCAL efforts
– Vetting nonprofits in the area / recommending the most effective to donors
– Connecting those we serve to a local church in the area
– Serve, love, and encourage the community
Objectives
1. Connect with local churches (partnerships)
2. Connect with ministries and residents (relationships)
3. Assess needs and resources in area

Encouragement:
– God is at work in Kerrville and Hunt
– Texans are helping Texans
– In the midst of the devastation and loss of life, people are supporting one another and lending a helping hand
Observations:
I. Access to Disaster Area is limited: Checkpoint is set up on HWY 39 leaving Ingram.
Purpose of Checkpoints:
1. Ensure SAR, first Responders, utility trucks, heavy equipment, residents, and designated volunteers can travel the narrow HWY with the least amount of traffic congestion
2. Keep sightseers and social media influencers out of the area. They impede relief efforts in the area and create potential safety issues for themselves and others
3. Protect against potential criminal activity in a highly vulnerable area
II. Support Systems: Local, state, agencies, nonprofits and local residents have set up food, water, supply depots along HWY 39.
– HEB Disaster Relief is available in Kerrville
– Organizations have set up places for volunteers to eat
Cautions:
1. This is a disaster area. There are risks, particularly for the untrained
2. Cell service is spotty along the river
3. Giving / Donating Money: Always research and properly vet nonprofits before giving. You want your hard-earned money going to the right people in the right place. Do your research!
Recommendations:
1. Do not self-deploy to the area; you will be turned away at the checkpoint
2. Self-sufficient: If you or your team is cleared to deploy, be self-sufficient. Bring everything you need (food, water, equipment, etc.) so that you don’t have to rely on valuable local resources
3. Health: It’s hot and humid – stay hydrated. Be aware of your surroundings. There is a lot of heavy equipment moving around
4. Serving: If you want to volunteer, please go through a designated organization in the area
5. Communications: Use StarLink or IridiumGo! or Sat-phone for communication in the area
6. Giving: Give through vetted organizations where you have absolute certainty about where it’s going. How much of the money given is going to people affected by the disaster?
